Vintage LeCoultre wrist watch.

Here we have a fantastic vintage LeCoultre watch in a rectangular case and fitted with an amazing steeped glass.

The movement is signed LeCoultre and was made in the Vacheron Constantin factory in the United States in the 1940's.

The 10ct gold filled case measures 37mm x 23mm and is in brilliant condition, and is a very sought after rectangular shape. The glass fitted is simply a talking point on its very own. Steeped to a point in the middle, it gives it a fantastic look about the whole watch.

To avoid steep import taxes in the United States and to promote the local watch industry, America imposed very high import taxes during the 1940's for imported watch movements and cases, and stated that 51% of a watch had to be made in America.

To get around this, Vacheron and LeCoultre (among others) opened watch making factories in America, imported a partially made movement from the parent factory in Switzerland, and finished it in the "new" American factory.

This movement is signed "VXN" denoting it being made in the Vacheron Constantin factory for LeCoultre.

If you are after a watch that has history and looks superb, then really consider this one.
