Vintage Omega chronograph reference 2279 made in 1950
$7,300.00
There is nothing quite like the look and feel of a vintage watch on your wrist, and here is a great vintage Omega chronograph that will no doubt always get the admiration that it deserves.
Made in 1950, this model reference is 2279 and is also known as the Pre-Speedmaster Omega watch, and would have to be one of Omega’s most handsome and stylish chronograph watches ever made.
The dial is all original and has achieved a wonderful patina that serious watch collectors covet. Still easy to read, the patina adds to the character of the watch and adds such an incredible look that is amazing to see when it is on your wrist.
With the stainless steel case measuring 35mm plus the crown and pushers, inside is the venerable 17 jewelled manual wind Omega calibre 321 from the base 27CHRO C12, which has been fully serviced, runs beautifully and comes with our twenty four month warranty.
A true classic, this vintage Omega chronograph will tick so many boxes for any vintage watch collector out there.

Where can I service my Omega watch?
When we expanded and renovated our store in late 2022, we put in not only a full watchmaking and polishing workshop, but two watchmakers. Our head watchmaker, Lorenzo Del Rosso, used to used to work for Tag Heuer, LVMH and then Rolex, before coming to Kalmar Antiques. We also now an authorised OMEGA watch service centre. This allows us to be able to service your Omega watch to full Omega specifications all on-site.
Along with Omega watches, we can service other watches such as Rolex, Longines, Breitling, Cartier and Patek Philippe to name a few.
How often should I service my Omega?
As per official OMEGA guidelines, the service frequency depends on the use of the watch and the environment in which it is worn. The water resistance can, for example, be affected by the aging of the gaskets or by an accidental shock. Therefore, we recommend that you have the water resistance checked once a year and a complete service performed every 5 to 8 years.
Kalmar Antiques are now an authorised OMEGA watch service centre, based in the heart of Sydney in the Queen Victoria Building.
Should I take my watch to an authorised OMEGA service centre?
Taking your watch to an authorised OMEGA watch service centre such as Kalmar Antiques, will ensure that not only is your watch serviced to the highest standards, but only genuine Omega parts are used. This will also allow the watch to be covered by a two year warranty.
