Vintage sterling silver Art Deco Rolex made in 1938
$0.00
Here is a very stylish vintage sterling silver Art Deco Rolex that was made in 1938, and has all the characteristics of the wonderful era in which it was made.
To begin with, the case is made from solid sterling silver as opposed to stainless steel and the rectangle shape looks great on the wrist and was a popular case design during the 1920’s to the 1940’s. Measuring 30.4mm in length by 25.4mm across, it sits so well on the wrist and would suit either a man or a woman.
And then the dial is all original with an incredible radiating sunburst design that is s highlighted even further by the wonderful Art Deco font of the numerals. The dial has not been repainted or touched up in any way and is completely original, and we have chosen to keep it this way rather than repainting it, as although a repainted dial will look cleaner, it will take away from its originality and character of the watch, and we feel it is all the better to keep it as it is. Combine the beautiful sunburst design to the dial with those gorgeous hands, and you really have a wonderful example of a genuine Rolex watch from the Art Deco era.
Like the dial, the case has been left unpolished as is the current trend for vintage watches and it is fitted on an elegant leather strap with a look that will easily allow it to be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
Powered by a 15 jewelled manual wind movement that has just come back from a complete service and overhaul, this will continue to be a watch that is always admired every time it is on the wrist.
