Wide antique silver and gold bangle
$1,900.00
The design of this bangle is sure to make it be admired from near or far, and combine it with the use of rose and green gold, then you will certainly have a wonderful conversation starter.
Made in the late Victorian era of the 1890’s in sterling silver, the bangle has the most wonderful floral design that is highlighted in rose and the rarer green gold.
For centuries gold has been made in different colours by being alloyed with other metals. Rose gold for example is produced by primarily adding copper to the gold, and years ago green gold was made by adding silver to the gold or cadmium. The result is a lovely soft green colour that looks so beautiful especially when set against the sterling silver and is used perfectly in this bangle to highlight the leaves.
With the rose gold used for the flowers and the very attractive half circular design as well as the ball details on each side, this is a truly magnificent bangle, that being hinged will allow it to sit nice and close to the wrist.
Measuring 3.9cm wide at the top section, and 3.5cm at the back, this is one truly spectacular bangle that will always be admired.

Wide antique silver and gold bangle
Wide antique silver and gold bangle made in the 1890’s. This wide antique silver and gold bangle is complimented with rose and the rarer green gold.
What is green gold?
Gold is alloyed with other metals that results in producing different colours. Rose gold is made by primarily adding copper to the gold when being alloyed. This results in a lovely warm tone to it. Today green gold is made by adding silver to the gold, however the green colour is more a soft green-yellow colour. Years ago cadmium was added resulting in a stronger colour. While never a strong green such as yellow or white gold, the tone of green in antique pieces is more pronounced especially when set against sterling silver.
