Carriage clocks were originally designed by Abraham-Louis Breguet for Emperor Napoleon in 1812, as a method to transport a clock all the while keeping superb accuracy and timekeeping, and here is an attractive antique carriage clock from the early 1900's. In fully restored condition, the case has been polished and sealed to its wonderful former glory and the French made 8 day movement has been fully serviced and comes with our twelve month warranty. Measuring 10.8cm tall or 14.8cm to the top of the handle, by 8cm wide and 6.5cm deep, the aesthetics of a carriage clock so easily allow them to be placed into any room and always look fresh and up to date. With the original beveled glass on all sides and the top which allows you to see the wonderful movement, the which enamel dial is so easy to see and read with the black Roman numerals on display. Dating from the 1890's comes this very elegant and stylish antique French clock with time and strike that will sound out the hours and half hour and make a wonderful addition to any room in the house. Made in France out of Italian marble, on the top sits two gilded sparrows that have so much character and detail and really seem to come alive in their very realistic pose. You can look at these birds from different angles and really be amazed at how life-like they appear. The clock measures 26cm across by 11.5cm deep by 30cm, and will sit so well on any shelf and will delight you when you hear it strike so beautifully on the hour and half hour. Inside the French movement has all been completely serviced and overhauled and comes with our twelve month warranty and the marble case is so easy to look after as a simple dust or wipe with a damp cloth will keep it clean for decades to come. Dating from the 1880's this magnificent antique French clock has just come back from a full restoration and not only runs perfectly, but has been restoredÂ to its former glory. Gilded in 24 carat gold, the clock was made in France and is typical of the style that Parisians and people from all over the world were after. With a superb enamel dial displaying Roman numerals as well as a floral scene, this motif has also been replicated on the panel at the bottom and remarkably and very uniquely on the pendulum. With two cherubs on each side holding onto the columns, the clock itself measures 41cm high by 23cm wide by 13cm deep and sits proudly on the velvet lined base which has also been lovingly restored. The base measures 4cm high by 15cm deep by 30cm wide and on any mantle shelf in any room will most certainly make a spectacular presence. The 8 day movement runs and keeps time perfectly and strikes on the hour and half hour and sounds magic with a typical "ping" that is associated from French clocks of this era.
