It is wonderful to put this bangle on and realise that it is over 120 years old, yet still looks so amazing. Made in sterling silver in France in the late 19th century, it is highlighted with rose gold that gives it such a warm feeling to it that emphasises not only the flowers on each side, but also the wonderful engraving. Measuring 24mm wide at the centre rose gold sections, the rest measures 14.3mm wide making it perfect to wear any time of the day or night. Here is a very rare antique illusion bangle made in 15 carat gold that will always be such a wonderful talking point and conversation starter and destined to always be loved and admired. Although it is difficult to see from the images as a camera only has of course one lens compared to our two eyes, the bangle measures 9.3mm all the way around, however when the bangle is rotated around and viewed, the bangle appears to get wider and thinner as it turns around thanks to the optical illusion created by the design. Made in the early 1900's, this is a wonderful example that shows that not all antique jewellery was staid and monotonous and the colour of the 15 carat has that wonderful warm rose tone that is so much beautiful that the strong coppery pink of rose gold today. Perfect for day or night this antique garnet and diamond bangle made in 1899 sits perfectly on the wrist and is perfect to wear for any occasion. Made in 9 carat rose gold, the bangle is set with a European cut diamond in the centre with a garnet on each side, followed by a rose cut diamond at each end. The diamonds come together to total 0.12 carats and the garnets 0.48 carats, and typical of antique jewellery made in the late Victorian period, the diamonds have a lovely star pattern around the diamonds also known as gypsy setting. Antique jewellery was so often well thought out to the smallest details and this can be seen here in this lovely antique hinged pearl bangle dating from the early 1900's. Not only is the design alone of the bangle so attractive with the gold work wrapping around the front like tendrils, and not only are they set with a total of twenty two seen pearls, but the pearls themselves graduate so elegantly from a mere 1mm in size to 2.2mm. Duggin, Shappere & Co were an early Australian jewellery company that made a name for themselves as producers of fine quality jewellery such as can be seen here in this magnificent antique solid opal, pearl and ruby bangle made by Duggin Shappere & Co in the early 1900's. Made in 15 carat rose gold, the colour of the gold alone is just wonderful with that charming warm tone to it that looks even more beautiful on the skin. The design is typical of Art Nouveau jewellery of this era with a wonderful flowing design to it that flows across the wrist. Set with thirty five seed pearls, looking closely you will see that the pearls graduate in size so elegantly and highlight the quality of craftsmanship that went into making this bangle all those years ago. Sitting in the centre of a flower design is a natural ruby that is surrounded by three solid black opals from Lightning Ridge.
