Here is a superb very high quality antique 18ct gold quarter repeater pocket watch that is in spectacular condition and amazing to admire from every single angle, both inside and out. A quarter repeater will at the press of a button, strike once for the hours and a set of double strikes for each quarter of hour that has past. In the video below, you can hear this pocket watch strike ten single times denoting 10 o'clock and three sets of double strikes to sound the time between 30 minutes past to 45 minutes past, meaning that the time is between 10:30 and 10:45. The sound that emanates as the button is pressed is so delightful to hear and viewing the movement which is protected further by a glass cover in just astonishing. The Swiss made movement has a centrifugal governor and is the same layout that is used by the esteemed watch manufacture of the time, Le Phare, and it was common at the time for watchmakers to use components from high grade watch manufactures to finish their own pocket watches. This movement has been completely serviced and comes with our twelve month warranty. Not only does it have the repeater function, but it also has a stop watch that adds to the character and quality of this pocket watch, and has the single start/stop and reset button on the side. The solid gold case measures 57.8mm by 74.5mm to the top of the bow and is profusely and expertly hand engraved on both sides and is still in exceptional condition with no dents or damage and the hinges all is excellent condition.
