The jabot pin jabot pin was first made in the 18th century and were actually worn by men to secure the ruffled lace at the front of their shirts, called a "jabot". Differing from a brooch, in that they are worn with each side showing and the fabric visible between the two ends, and they became very popular during the Art Deco period of the 1920's to the 1940's, when this one was made. Made in 15 carat gold in the 1920's, the jabot pin measures 6.1cm in length and looks absolutely amazing thanks to not only the form of the parrots sitting at each end, but the wonderful and vibrant enamel that is highlighted with a natural pearl in each.
