The Retro period was from the late 1930's to the early 1950's and is quite different to that of the earlier Art Deco period, with Retro jewellery often being made in bold designs as well as often in rose gold, both of which features can be seen here in this lovely 18 carat rose gold diamond ring made in the Retro era of the 1940's. Made in France, the colour of the rose gold has that wonderful warm tone that bot only looks so beautiful on the finger, but doesn't have that excessive strong pink often seen with some of the modern rose gold made today. Measuring 17mm across by 13.6, the ring has a wonderful bow-tie style and design to it and is set with a 0.12 carat round brilliant cut diamond in the centre. With a fabulous bold design that will make this ring stand out on the finger, this is a wonderful example of a ring from the equally fabulous Retro era. Stock# T1061 Circa: 1950 $Sold.
