The Australian South Sea pearl has become world famous thanks in part to its large size and superb quality, and here is a very rare sized extremely large South Sea pearl necklace that is truly spectacular. Normally South Sea pearls range in size from 10mm to 15mm, however these pearls graduate from 15.5mm to an incredible 17mm. While it might be easy to think that there is not much difference between a 15mm pearl and 17mm pearl, the rarity of this size of pearl makes it so difficult to find.  Not only are these South Sea pearls large, but the quality of each pearl is spectacular. With a thick nacre to each and perfectly matched in colour and lustre, this strand of South Sea pearls looks and feels amazing around the neck. Measuring 46cm in length, the strand has been set with a golden South Sea pearl that ingeniously hides the clasp. These pearls have been independently valued by Gem Studies Laboratory for $142,500. We have been lucky to retail some superb quality South Sea pearls over the years, however this strand is arguably the finest that we have ever had, and you will be truly hard pressed to find a better quality strand.
