Here are a magnificent pair of antique garnet earrings dating from the 1880's and each set with 3 garnets in a stunning design that looks amazing on the ear.
Made in 15ct yellow gold, the design alone of the earrings is so stunning to admire from all angles and is one of the reasons why antique earrings are always so popular.
The fine detail is even more amazing when you consider that these earrings were made in the 19th century well before any of the modern equipment that we have today and these earrings although over 130 years old are still in superb condition.
Each earrings is set with three almandine garnets that look amazing set against the richness of the yellow gold. Almandine garnets have a more purple hue to them when compared to the more common variety garnet and almandine garnets were a popular choice during the Victorian era.
The total length of each earring is 48.9mm from where the shepherd hook joins to the top of the earring to the the bottom, and the "main" piece set with the garnets measures 27.6mm in length by 15.6mm wide.
Made in three sections, this causes each earring to sway so gently and set with nice long shepherd hooks, these are very secure earrings with no chance of falling out.
Antique earrings such as these have that regal look about them that only an antique pair can have and the antique earrings set with garnets are bound to be admired and commented on every time they are worn.
