This is a wonderful example of an antique diamond engagement ring dating from the 1870's that is will always be cherished and admired.
Hand made in 18ct yellow gold, the ring is set with 3 old mine cut diamonds that all have a wonderful charm and sparkle to them all. These diamonds have 58 facets (cuts) like today's round modern brilliant cut, but as they were cut well before the invention of high precision instruments around today have higher angles and that wonderful appeal that only a hand cut diamond can have. Old mine cut diamonds have so much charm and character to them and is just one of the appeal of an antique engagement ring.
The centre diamond measures 0.75 carats and the 2 others total 0.60 carats with a combined diamond weight of 1.35 carats which spreads wonderfully across the finger, and are all F-G in colour and Vs clarity meaning they are all very white clean diamonds with no tinting yellow on the diamonds or eye visible inclusions and being claw set allows so much natural light to enter the stones.
With a very rich colour from the 18ct gold and a wonderful smooth band that is still in excellent condition and able to be worn every day for many years to come, this antique diamond ring has not only wonderful old cut diamonds that are very good quality, but a delightful traditional setting to match.
This antique diamond engagement ring is so traditional and lovely and is stunning from all angles and is a fine example of what an antique diamond engagement ring is all about.
