18ct antique ruby and diamond ring

Here is a very attractive antique ruby and diamond ring that would suit any finger including making a wonderful example of an antique engagement ring.
 Made in 18ct yellow gold around the turn of the 20th Century, this ruby and diamond ring is set with 5 stones.
 Whereas most rings in this style have the coloured stone in the centre and a diamond on each side, this one is more unique by having a diamond in the centre with the rubies set on either side.

 So many rubies found in modern jewellery today either have undergone a lead filling treatment to enhance its colour which is an unstable treatment or have a good colour but poor transparency meaning that you can not see through the ruby.
 These rubies however are wonderful Burmese rubies that both have superb colour and great transparency and total 0.44 carats. 

 The three diamonds are charming themselves by being the antique hand cut old European cut diamonds which sparkle magnificently and total 0.59 carats.

 From the end of one diamond across to the other measures 15.6mm and at the widest part in the centre it measures 5.3mm across.
 This antique ruby and diamond ring sits so well on the finger and the colour from the natural rubies to the sparkle from the diamonds all go to make this such an incredible and beautiful ring.
