Most ladies watches from this era were hand wound movements, yet in 1952 Longines produced their first automatic movement for gents watches, and in 1956 came their first ever automatic self winding movement calibre 14.17, made especially for ladies watches. This Longines was made in 1956, meaning this was made in the first year that Longines produced their ladies automatic movement.
To have a watch with this feature and history is just superb and a real find indeed.
The 18ct gold watch case measures 19mm across (21mm including the crown) and the dial itself measures a very sweet 13mm across, yet with the white background is still so easy to read.
