Here is a truly remarkable rare and important 18ct yellow gold Longines chronograph minute repeater pocket watch of the highest standard and in exceptional condition.

Repeater pocket watches come in three types – a quarter repeater that will strike the hours and which quarter the time is, for instance three gongs for 3 o’clock and one double gongs for being between 3:00 and 3:15. Then there is the five minute repeater which has a more complicated movement to tell withing five minutes and finally the crème de la crème of them all – a minute repeater. This will strike the exact time for the hours and minutes and is a real testament to the quality of this pocket watch.

And then after the fact that it is a superb minute repeater, it also has a chronograph function for timing. Having one complication is great, however having two is even better and makes this even more special.

The solid 18ct gold case measures 55mm across by 73.6mm from the bottom to the top of the bow, and the front cover has the most wonderful hand engraved monogram in a very elegant Art Deco font.

Not only has this pocket watch been extensively serviced and in full working order, it also comes with Longines archive papers stating that it was sold in January 1924 to their French agent, Perusset.
