1941 rose gold Rolex Prince watch with the Prima movement
With its distinct and iconic look, the Rolex Prince has remained one of the most sought after collectable vintage Rolex watches, and here is a beautiful example here – a lovely 1941 rose gold Rolex Prince watch with the Prima movement.
First introduced by Rolex in 1928, the Rolex Prince was so innovative with its hour hands set on top and completely independent to the seconds hand at the bottom. Where as all other watches even today have the sub-seconds dial incorporated near the number 6, in the Rolex Prince it sits below making for a very attractive design.
The 18ct rose gold case has that lovely warm colour that is only found with rose gold and it goes so far to compliment the original dial which has achieved the most wonderful natural patina.
With beautiful numerals and hands, the case itself measures 20mm across plus the crown by 41mm and the case back is hand engraved “Rev F. Fuhlendorf from the Parishoners St Patrick Church Lithgow 17.3.41”
(Father Fuhlendorf was born in Leichhardt Sydney, on 6 June 1913, the son of a tram driver. He was ordained in 1936 and continued as a parish priest until retiring in 1988.)
Inside is the beautiful 15 jewelled manual wind Rolex Prima movement that has been serviced, runs great and comes with our twelve month warranty.
This is a wonderful example of a vintage Rolex Prince that will continually get the admiration that it deserves every time that it is worn.
