Here is a gorgeous antique 15 carat gold locket set with European cut diamonds that looks as beautiful today as when it was made over 100 years ago.
Whereas many antique lockets were made in what is called a "back and front" locket where there is gold sandwiched onto a base metal, this one is not only solid gold, but also 15 carat gold. This carat of gold was only used from 1854 to 1931 and often has such a beautiful warm rose colour that looks even more wonderful that the very strong and often too coppery colour of pink gold today.
Measuring 21.2mm in diameter, the front is set with three lovely genuine antique European cut diamonds that total 0.06 carats, that have been set with such a delicate design around each.
Able to easily accommodate two photos inside, this is such a beautiful and elegant example of an antique locket that can still so easily be worn every day.
