Antique 18ct gold and enamel box made in France

Here is an absolutely exquisite antique 18ct gold and enamel box made in France in the 19th Century that truly is a work of art and is incredibly tactile to hold and touch from the enamel scene at the top, to the gold work around the box.
Measuring 7cm by 4.1cm by 2.5cm high, it was not only made in 18ct yellow gold, but also rose gold as well as the rare green gold. Green gold was made by adding cadmium and can be seen as having a lovely soft green hue to it that accentuates the work in this box so well.
Decorated with four urn designs around the side with the most delightful wreath work on the edges, the quality of craftsmanship can be seen even underneath the box. The urns show the use of rose, yellow and green gold as well as sterling silver as white gold was not yet invented and platinum was not used in jewellery at this time either.
The detail is just extraordinary and then there is the lovely enamel scene on the front in such vibrant colours. With a gorgeous lifelike scene of country life, the detail is just superb and as captivating as the gold work.
This is such a collectors piece and is just exquisite from all angles and sides.
