Here are a pair of Victorian era antique Blackamoor earrings that are truly a piece of history that you can both admire and wear.
Blackamoor jewellery is very easily characterised by the use of black Africans as the main theme to the pieces as can be seen here in the stunning Blackamoor earrings.
Each earring is set into a large oval piece of tortoiseshell that measures 4.5cm in length by 3.8cm wide and with a further piece of tortoiseshell measuring 13mm by 13mm and are fitted on nice long shepherd hooks.
The central motif of the woman is richly covered in gold leaf with a delightful grape vine design amongst her hair, and then wearing the lovely outfit draped across her front.
The top piece of tortoiseshell hasn't been forgotten with its own floral design in gold and these antique earrings work so well with the chocolate brown of the tortoiseshell and the rich colour of the gold resulting in a very unique and special pair of Blackamoor earrings.
Dating from the 1870's, these antique earrings are just so special and unique and are destined to be appreciated and admired every single time that they are worn.
