Garnets are most commonly found in a rich burgundy-red colour, however garnets come in a wide range of colours including the green variety of tsavorite garnets or what we have here, which are the rarest of them all, the demantoid garnets.
Demantoid garnets were not discovered until 1868 in Russia's Ural mountains and have remained the most prized and expensive of all the garnet colours.
Here we have a very attractive antique brooch set with 7 demantoid garnets and 8 pearls in a very elegant and flowing design.
Made in 15ct rose gold, the colour of the rose gold has that delightful "warm" colour associated with it to make this brooch even more charming.
   Â
The brooch measures 45.1mm across by 11mm wide at its widest part and will sit so well on any outfit.
This is such a charming antique brooch made even more special by the rose gold and of course those fabulous demantoid garnets.Â
