Antique diamond engagement ring from the 1870’s
$0.00
Here is a spectacular antique diamond engagement ring from the 1870’s that is so beautiful no matter from what angle that you look at it thanks to the five main large diamonds, the ten rose cut diamonds or the incredible scroll work on the sides.
Beautifully hand made in 18ct gold in the Victorian era, the ring is set with five main European cut diamonds. And then to give this ring so much extra charm and character, between each diamond there are two rose cut diamonds, with one more rose cut diamond at each end.
(What are European and rose cut diamonds? Find out here: https://www.kalmarantiques.com.au/articles/a-brief-history-of-the-cutting-of-diamonds/Â )
The five main diamonds total an impressive 2.17 carats and are G-H in colour and Vs-Si in clarity meaning that they are in the white range of diamonds without any visible inclusions.
Combined with the fact that they were hand cut over 100 years ago adds so much more charm and character to them.
The additional rose cut diamonds total 0.10 carats and add just the right amount of extra sparkle to an already impressive ring. From left to right the ring measures 20.4mm by 6.4mm and sits so well on the finger.
And when you look at the incredible scroll work on the side, this aspect of the ring will just take your breath away as the detail is amazing and shows how much attention to detail went into hand making this ring all those years ago.
No matter which part of this ring you look at, you will always be amazed at its incredible beauty and elegance.
