The Edwardian era of the early 1900's produced some wonderful and very elegant designs in jewellery being produced often still with the late Victorian influence in its design and also with a new "modern" look and appeal to it resulting in some very beautiful pieces of jewellery being made such as this very elegant Edwardian era antique peridot and pearl necklace.
Made in 9ct rose gold at the start of the 20th Century, this peridot and pearl necklace sits so well on the neckline and will make any woman walk tall and feel like a princess.
The necklace is set with a total of 10 peridots with the top 5 being round and the lower 5 being pear cut in shape and then the necklace is enhanced further by being set with 26 delightful seed pearls.
It is not just a matter of the necklace being set with peridot and pearls, rather it is also the attractive design of the necklace which adds so much charm and character and is what makes antique jewellery so special and favoured by so many.
Being hand made the quality of this piece is superb and still in wonderful condition even 100 years later.
Laid out, from end to end the piece measures 44cm across, and from the start of the scroll work on one side just before the first series of peridot to pearls to the other, it measures 13cm across.
This antique necklace sits so well on the neckline, and it is the type and style of jewellery that is so special and amazing to wear, that you buy the clothes to match the necklace rather than the necklace to match the clothes.
This is such an elegant and refined piece of antique jewellery right from the Edwardian era and one that looks and feels amazing and is destined to always be admired, commented on and appreciated.
