Here is a truly magnificent antique emerald and diamond brooch and pendant that is not only spectacular to admire as a pendant but easily convertible to a brooch.
Dating from the 1860's, this incredible piece was exquisitely hand made in 15ct gold and silver. Silver was used as it was known that gold would reflect the colour into the diamonds and white gold was not yet invented when this piece was made and platinum, although already discovered, was not yet used in jewellery making.
Set with 110 diamonds and that gorgeous emerald in the centre that really has such a fantastic colour to it, the combination and style of this antique pendant/brooch will make sure that it will always be admired.
The diamonds are all mine cut diamonds which were on of the first style of cutting diamonds and they have a total weight of 2.95 carats which certainly makes it sparkle day or night no matter in which way it is worn.
The emerald is from Colombia which still to this day produces the best emeralds in the world, and this emerald has such a fabulous colour and measures 0.85 carats.
From left to right it measures 37.6mm by 41.2mm and turning it over shows how well made and designed it was.
When it is worn as a brooch, it sits perfectly on any outfit and when you wish to wear this as a pendant, the brooch fitting is easily removed by unscrewing the brooch fitting allowing it to sit perfectly flat against the chest.
So ingeniously and well made, this antique emerald and diamond pendant is just as amazing as a brooch and no matter in which form it is worn, it will certainly be admired and commented on.
