Here is one of the finest antique lockets that we have ever had, a truly gorgeous antique enamel and diamond heart pendant dating from the early 1900's.
Finely made in the Edwardian era, this locket was made in 15ct gold in a romantic and sweet heart shape and is set with a natural pearl in the centre surrounded by eleven rose cut diamonds and the most exquisite guilloché enamel. This technique is where the gold is engraved with a design prior to firing in the kiln resulting in the gorgeous wave design that can be seen.
Then surrounding the red enamel is the gorgeous border of white enamel that really completes this heart design.
Sitting proudly on the top is a further natural pearl and seven more rose cut diamonds connected to a detachable bail that will easily allow it to fit on any chain or even as an enhancer on a pearl necklace.
The heart measures 18.9mm across by 41mm from the bottom of the pearl to the very top of the bail.
And then turning the piece over reveals a section where a photo of a loved one can easily be placed inside making this not only a wonderful enamel pendant but a personal and romantic locket.
With so much charm and style, this is one of the most romantic heart shaped lockets that you could ever wear around your neck.
