This antique pendant dates from the late 1800's and will always look magnificent every time that it is worn and certainly captures the light thanks to the beautiful antique diamonds.
Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold and sterling silver, the reason that silver was used instead of white gold or platinum is that it was not until the early 1900’s that white gold was invented, and platinum although already discovered, was not used in jewellery until around this same time.
The design is so elegant and feminine and in total there are nineteen European cut diamonds set into the pendant as well as a further three more set into the bail at the top. These diamonds come together to total 0.58 carats and then the pendant is further highlighted by being set with two natural pearls.
The design as well as the use of pearls makes this such an elegant piece and even with all of the diamonds, it is not an ostentatious piece of jewellery and will therefore always be admired for its elegance and beauty.
Measuring 13.7mm cross by 18.8mm to the top of the bail, this will sit perfectly around the neck where it will always be worn with pride.

Antique European cut diamond and natural pearl pendant
This antique pendant was hand made in gold and silver. The reason that silver was used instead of white gold or platinum, is that it was not until the early 1900’s that white gold was invented, and platinum although already discovered, was not used in jewellery until around this same time as there was not the technology to be able to let it reach melting point for fine jewellery work.
Set with European cut diamonds which were the forerunner to the round brilliant cut diamond of today, as well as natural pearls, this is an incredible example of a genuine antique diamond and pearl pendant.
