Antique French clock

A clock such as this takes you back to a grand room with ornate ceilings and artworks with this French clock sitting proudly on a mantle shelf. Dating from the 1880's this magnificent antique French clock has just come back from a full restoration and not only runs perfectly, but has been restored  to its former glory.

Gilded in 24 carat gold, the clock was made in France and is typical of the style that Parisians and people from all over the world were after. With a superb enamel dial displaying Roman numerals as well as a floral scene, this motif has also been replicated on the panel at the bottom and remarkably and very uniquely on the pendulum.

With two cherubs on each side holding onto the columns, the clock itself measures 41cm high by 23cm wide by 13cm deep and sits proudly on the velvet lined base which has also been lovingly restored. The base measures 4cm high by 15cm deep by 30cm wide and on any mantle shelf in any room will most certainly make a spectacular presence.

The 8 day movement runs and keeps time perfectly and strikes on the hour and half hour and sounds magic with a typical "ping" that is associated from French clocks of this era.

This is truly a magnificent and regal antique French clock that is as beautiful as it is breathtaking.
