This antique Chinese clock is sensational and looks good from every direction that you view it.
Made in China for the Chinese market as opposed to French clocks imported into China, this clock was made around 1870 and houses a wonderfully large fusee movement with a verge escapement.
Making this antique clock more wonderful is the strike for each hour and half hour.
However it is that fabulous solid timber case and dial that is so attractive and really stands out from so many other antique clocks.
The work on the timber case is amazing and continues all around the clock and has achieved the most wonderful patina.
The dial is delightful with a combination of European influence with the hands and the Roman numerals and the outside of the dial is amazing with the Chinese writing and style.
Measuring 50cm high by 33cm wide and 26cm deep, this antique Chinese clock is like no other.
