Made in 12ct gold in the late 19th Century, this gorgeous antique locket has the most wonderful design on the front and can easily hold a photo of a loved one in the reverse.
On the front, this is not simply a locket that is plain or with some small decoration. The pendant is made in 12 ct rose gold with the two front vertical panels on the front being in a soft yellow gold.
With wonderful hand engraving, it is easy to see the lengths that the jeweller went to in creating this fabulous locket and what a fine piece of antique jewellery is all about.
And then there are the pearls and the ruby to really make this piece more special.
Set on the front of this photo locket are a 8 seed pearls surrounding a natural ruby with two more pearls as well.
To have an antique photo locket with so much detail on its own is wonderful, to have it set with a ruby and pearl, makes it even better.
Then turning the locket over reveals where a photo can easily be held in place and viewed.
The hinge design of the locket makes it so easy to open and close.
At its widest part in the centre, this photo locket measures 30mm across by 43.3mm from the bottom to the round link above the locket or 54mm from the bottom to the very top of the bail which is where the chain would slide through.
From the front design with the ruby and the pearls and the most wonderful intricate design, to the back where you can place a photo of someone dear to your heart, all of this goes to make this a superb antique photo locket that will always be loved and cherished.
