Here is a magnificent antique mother of pearl opera glasses that come in their original box and engraved with the most charming and sweet sentiment.
Made in Paris by Lemaire Fabricant and retailed by the American company A. Stowell & Co, these opera glasses are still in superb condition and can still be used today.
Wrapped in mother of pearl makes it attractive, however the fact that these had been dyed purple makes them so unique and even more special and rare compared to other mother of pearl opera glasses. The colour of the mother of pearl is just so beautiful and feminine and really takes you back to a bygone era.
And then engraved on the base is the sweetest hand engraving of "Charles to Anne Dec 25 1868" that really makes you smile when you think of the story and love behind these opera glasses.
Fitted in their original case which itself is wonderful to still have over 140 years later adds to the charm and collectable of these opera glasses.
So charming and full of colour, these antique opera glasses are just divine.
