Antique palette brooch by Duggin Shappere & Co

What a wonderful and exciting brooch in the form of an artist’s palette that was not only made over a century ago, but also by one of Australia’s leading jewellers of the late 19th to early 20th Centuries and one that will always be admired.

Dating from the early 1900’s, this brooch was made in 15 carat gold by Duggin, Shappere & Co who are one of Australia’s most famous jewellers. The brooch is set with a ruby, pearl and sapphire in the palette, and the design on either side is just gorgeous.

Measuring 5.1cm in length, this exact brooch is featured in the book “Australian Jewellers Makers & Marks” on page 80 making this even more exciting.

This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful brooches around, and one that will always be noticed and admired.
