The Albertina was designed for a lady to attach this to her outfit and have a pocket watch at one end, often sitting in a lapel where she could have it sitting there well protected and easily able to be pulled out to tell the time, however more often than not, today these are worn as bracelets where they look absolutely stunning.
This one dates from the late Victorian period of the 1890's and and was made in 9 carat rose gold, with the colour of the rose gold having such a wonderful warm tone to it that looks even better when worn against the skin.
Measuring 23.3cm from end to end, when worn as a bracelet there is a ring for the swivel to attach to making this length 18cm which is perfect for a bracelet.
With three beautiful rows that have a hand engraved slide in the centre, there is also the most charming cube that like the slide has been expertly hand engraved.
So beautiful and versatile, this antique Albertina will always be admired no matter how you choose to wear it.
