Antique ruby and diamond gypsy ring made in the early 1900’s
$0.00
The gypsy setting is a term given when there is a star pattern surrounding the stones in the ring which was created by the jeweller pushing into the gold resulting in not only a star pattern but also a bead to add to the security of the stone. This charming way to set the stone adds a wonderful additional element to a ring as can be seen here in this very lovely antique ruby and diamond gypsy ring made in the early 1900’s.
Made in 18 carat yellow gold the ring is set with two natural rubies that total 0.04 carats and a vibrant 0.06 carat mine cut diamond in the centre. The mine cut diamond is one of the earliest cuts of diamonds and has all the charm and character of being cut by hand all those years ago.
With the ring measuring 6.6mm wide at the top and tapering down to 2.4mm wide at the back, the ring has a lovely soft dome to the top which gives it such a beautiful smooth and tactile finish to it.
Regardless of the finger or occasion for the ring, it is one that will continue to always look so beautiful now and well into the future.
