The gypsy ring is one that goes from thin at the back to wide at the top and with a domed top set with gemstones into the setting in a very attractive star design as can be seen in this antique ruby and diamond gypsy ring dating from the 1890’s.
This gypsy ring is made in 18ct gold and set with 2 natural rubies and one diamond in the centre. The rubies total 0.24 carats and the diamond 0.03 carats and there is that delightful scroll work on each end of the setting.
Tapering from 4.7mm wide at the back to 8.5mm wide at the top, this antique gypsy ring is so easy to wear all the time as the rubies and diamond sits into the setting.
