Here is an exquisite antique ruby and diamond ring that is not only set with three superb quality natural Burmese rubies, but also has not two but a total twelve diamonds set amongst the most beautiful scroll work sides.
Dating from the 1890's, this ruby and diamond ring is typical of the style and elegance of the late Victorian era and will suit any finger and occasion and always look so refined on the finger.
In the centre is a gorgeous fiery Burmese ruby that measures 0.72 carats and a further ruby on each side that is again Burmese in origin and are all perfectly matched in colour and transparency. These two rubies total 0.62 carats and the quality of these rubies show why for centuries Burmese rubies have long been regarded as the best of the best.
Then on each side of the centre ruby is an old European cut diamond to add to the sparkle of this ring. This cut of diamond has 58 facets like today's modern round brilliant cut diamond, but as they were cut by hand and didn't know as much about how light reflects in a diamond, they have different angles than that of a modern diamond. And then looking closely will show a total of ten rose cut diamonds set between the rubies and the larger diamonds. These additional rose cut diamonds total 0.05 carats and from one end across to the other, this distance measures 21.5mm across by 6.4mm wide at the centre.
Then looking at the diamond on the side you will see the most incredible and highly detailed hand carved scroll work that will captivate you every time that you see it and shows the quality of craftsmanship that went into hand making this ring over 100 years ago.
Perfect for an engagement ring, anniversary or simply to wear for any occasion, this antique ruby and diamond ring is just divine.
