Here is a very elegant and lovely antique ruby and diamond ring that would suit any purpose or moment on a woman's life including making a wonderful example of an antique ruby and diamond engagement ring or as a ring for a ruby anniversary.
Made in Birmingham in 1890, this wonderful Victorian era ring is set with three oval rubies and four diamonds.
The rubies are Burmese rubies which has long been regarded as the best quality rubies in the world as they have both a great red colour and great transparency allowing you to see right through the ruby.
These Burmese rubies all have that lovely strong red colour and great transparency that is so desired in a good quality ruby and the three rubies total 0.54 carats.
On each side of the centre ruby are two old European cut diamonds that totals 0.08 carats and give this ring the right amount of sparkle.
Both the rubies and the diamonds are set low into the band in its own channel making it a very easy and practical ring to wear all the time.
At each end, the ring has been hand carved so beautifully and this adds so much charm to antique rings as it has been done by hand rather than mass produced cast made like many reproduction rings today.
Overall this is a very lovely antique ruby and diamond ring that sits so well on the finger and looks so elegant and has wonderful quality Burmese rubies making this an antique ring to be treasured for a lifetime.
