Antique ruby locket made in France

French jewellers have always been able to create masterpieces and here is a fine quality antique locket that is simply superb.

Made in France in the early 1900’s, this double sided photo locket was made in 18ct gold and is set with 4 rubies.
However this locket really goes that extra further by being made in not just 18ct yellow gold, but also having rose gold and the incredibly rare green gold.

Green gold was embraced by many jewellers of this period and has such a wonderful soft green hue to it that was used in the leaf design to this locket.
The colour of the rose gold “stem” and the green gold “leaves” match brilliantly against the yellow gold all of which is highlighted by the rubies.

Able to hold 2 photos, this locket measures 26mm in diameter or 34.2mm from the bottom to the top of the bail.
