Dating from the late 1800's come these magnificent antique sapphire and diamond cluster earrings that sit so well on the ear and will certainly stand out for their quality and elegance day or night.
Hand made in 18ct yellow gold and silver, it had been known that it is better to set diamonds in a white metal to prevent the yellow from the gold tinting the diamonds yellow, and as white gold was not yet invented and platinum was not used for jewellery at this stage, silver was used which adds to the authenticity of the piece as well as the age and era.
The two Ceylonese sapphires have a magnificent well matched blue colour and total 2.20 carats and in each cluster there are ten diamonds surround the sapphire with one more diamond at the top. These diamonds sparkle magnificently and total 2.58 carats.
Each cluster measures 11mm wide by 19.1mm from the bottom of the cluster to the top of the additional diamond above the cluster or 28.5mm to the top of the posts making them sit delightfully below the earlobe to be admired by all.
Fitted on very secure lever back fittings, these antique Victorian era sapphire and diamond cluster drop earrings are just divine.
