Antique sapphire and diamond engagement ring dating from the 1890’s

$0.00

There is nothing quite like looking down at your finger and seeing a beautiful antique sapphire and diamond engagement ring dating from the 1890’s sitting perfectly and looking as beautiful today as when it was made all those years ago.

Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold, there are so many incredible features that showcase this ring as a spectacular example of what could be made in the Victorian period.

To begin with there are the lovely natural sapphires that are perfectly matched in colour and have a mesmerising blue that captures and plays with the light so well. With a total weight of 1.15 carats, these sapphires have such a wonderful blue that are perfectly highlighted by the diamonds.

Looking closely at this ring, you will see that it is not actually set with two diamonds, but rather astonishingly there are a total of ten diamonds. Set on each side of the centre sapphire there is the larger European cut diamonds that come together to total 0.76 carats and then then on each “corner” of these diamonds, there are four rose cut diamonds to add that extra sparkle and shine. These additional diamonds total 0.04 carats and from the centre the ring measures 5.65mm wide by 18.5mm across.

And then looking at the side of the ring will take your breath away when you both see and admire the incredible scroll work on the side which like the rest of the ring was all done by hand as apposed to the more common mass producing method of making rings today as a cast made ring.

From every angle, this is such a spectacular and exciting ring, and one that will also easily accommodate a wedding band sitting alongside.
