So many antique pieces have a unique character and style to them that simply can't be found in many of today's modern jewellery and here is a delightful example of an antique hinged bangle made in sterling silver and highlighted with both rose and green gold with a wonderful Egyptian motif making it even more special.
Green gold was mostly used during the late 20th century and was produced by adding cadmium resulting in a very soft fine green colour to the gold. Rose gold itself is produced by the addition of copper to the alloy resulting in a very warm rose colour that has remained so popular to this day and both the rose and green gold looks superb set against the sterling silver.
Discoveries in Egypt resulted in learning so much about the ancient times as well as having an influence on the jewellery that was being produced during this time.
The bangle measures 28.5mm wide and is hinged which also means that it sits nice and close to the wrist and makes it so easy to wear day or night.
Sterling silver is very strong and this antique silver bangle is still in fantastic condition even well after 100 years later and the motif combined with the use of both rose and green gold, all go to making this a wonderful late Victorian antique bangle that is so unique and special and will always be admired and commented on.
