Antique silver lockets are always so charming to hold photos of those close to you, and here we have a very attractive and special antique sterling silver locket highlighted with both rose and green gold.
Made in Birmingham in 1884, this very attractive antique locket is made on the front with a very attractive floral design highlighted with not only rose gold but also green gold.
Green gold made a brief appearance in jewellery around the 1880's to 1890's, and has such a delightful soft green colour that looks so good set against the sterling silver.
The rose gold also continues around the inner border highlighting the use of two colours of gold.
The border of the front itself is also very attractive and like many antique lockets the reverse side hasn't gone unnoticed as it is beautifully hand engraved again with a floral design.
Inside this locket is able to hold two photos and the locket itself measures 3.4cm wide by 4.4cm or 5.8cm to the top of the bail.
This is such a wonderful example of a Victorian photo locket that is made all the more charming by not only the design on both sides but the use of rose and green gold making this a very special and unique antique locket for all occasions.
