The suffragette movement of the late 19th Century and early 20th Century was defining in allowing woman to vote and was often represented by the colours green, white and violet that was used in jewellery worn and is seen here in this very elegant antique suffragette pendant from the Edwardian era.
Dating from the early 1900’s, this suffragette pendant was made in 9ct gold and is set with four round amethysts, one oval amethyst and the suspended pear cut amethyst at the bottom. This is all highlighted with the four round peridots and the pearl all set into a very refined and elegant scroll setting.
Laid out from end to end, the necklace measures 48cm in length and the pendant itself measuresÂ 4cm wide by 5.1cm from the bottom of the lower amethyst to the top of the scroll work.
