Here is one of the finest antique lockets that looks magnificent no matter which side is showing and one that has such incredible detail.
Dating from the 1870's, this locket is made in a style so typical of the mid-Victorian era and was made in 18ct yellow gold.
On both sides this locket is set with turquoise and a ruby and on one side there are 12 pieces of turquoise with the central ruby and the other 6 pieces of turquoise with the ruby.
Not only do both sides have a different number of turquoise set, but the design on each side is so different to each other yet so beautiful you will have a hard time deciding which side to show when you are wearing it.
The locket itself measures 22.2mm in diameter or 29.4mm from the bottom of the locket to the top of the bail which is all original and in keeping in design of the locket.
Able to hold a photo of someone close and dear to you, this is one of the most elegant antique lockets around and one that is full of character and charm no matter which side you look at.
A truly beautiful example of a mid-Victorian locket.
