The mid-Victorian era was one of romance and elegance and this antique ring shows all of this and looks divine on the finger.
Hand made in 15ct gold around 1860, this ring is set with 6 Rhodolite garnets. The more common and deeper burgundy reg garnets are the Almandine garnets, and the Rhodolite garnets have a wonderful soft purple hue to them combined with the rich burgundy colour, resulting in the wonderful colour from them.
However it is not just the type of garnet that makes them wonderful, it is also the fact that they are each cut into a heart shape adding so much romance to this lovely Victorian era ring.
The heart shape is just so wonderful and from left to right the top of the ring measures 12.6mm across by 13.1mm.
Set in the centre is a pearl that really does complete the look of this ring and gives the ring a somewhat flower design.
Typical to many antique rings, the band has not simply been joined to the top, rather there is that fabulous work on each side that adds to the charm and character and is what owning and wearing an antique ring is all about.
From the type and cut of the garnets, the pearl to the intricate design, this antique garnet and pearl ring is as elegant as it is romantic and will always be treasured and truly loved.
