Antique yellow gold double sided REGARD photo locket

Here is an absolutely gorgeous antique yellow gold double sided REGARD photo locket, that dates from the 1870's and still retains its original photos inside.

"Regard" jewellery is often where the first letter of each gemstone "spells" out the word Regard, however with this locket the word "Regard" is spelt out in such a wonderful font along the edge of the locket.

The font is so beautiful to admire and then there is also both sides of the locket which are exquisitely hand engraved. Made in 9ct yellow gold, the detail in the engraving is wonderful and so much finer than machine engraved or just stamped out in huge numbers.

The locket measures 21.4mm in diameter and the photo sections 15.5mm in diameter. Complete with its original photographs, they really add so much charm and character. While these photographs can easily be taken out and replaced, we thought it best to keep them and let the new owner decide to remove the photos, put their new photos over the top, or simply leave them in place.

With the wonderful hand engraving on the outside making this alone such a gorgeous piece to wear around your neck, to the lovely photos inside and of course the word "Regard" on the rim, this is such a beautiful and unique antique locket that is a real treasure.
