Art Deco diamond ring made in France in the 1920's

Art Deco jewellery dating from the 1920's to the 1940's can easily be identified by having angular lines and a perfect symmetry. And this can easily be seen here in this truly fabulous Art Deco diamond ring. So typical in design of Art Deco designs, this is such a high quality ring that was hand made in platinum in France in the 1920's. With a circular design and a central diamond, there are straight edged baguette cut diamonds set on each side with more diamonds leading down the side. In total there are twenty seven diamonds that total 1.06 carats and they are all millgrain set. Millgrain setting diamonds is when the edge of the setting has a crimping along the sides such as the edge of a coin and is often found in Art Deco jewellery and really finishes off a ring so well. Platinum was used quite a lot by jewellers of the Art Deco period and is the purest of all the precious metals used in jewellery including being a pure white colour and incredibly strong. The circular setting measures 19.4mm from left to right by 14.1mm and with a subtle dome to it sits so well on any finger. This is one of the finest and most elegant Art Deco diamond rings around and one that will suit any woman's finger.
