Australia produces approximately 90 to 95% of the worlds opals, and the worlds best opals are arguably the Australia black opal which are set into this pendant that dates from the Art Deco era.
Made in 18 carat white gold in the 1930's, the opals display such a wonderful play of colour that makes them so highly prized and sought after the world over. With the one at the top being oval in shape, the pendant drop leading to the lower opal is not only so elegant in its design, but is also set with two diamonds that capture the light and total 0.14 carats.
With the lower opal having a more natural free form shape to it, this pendant is truly so elegant and refined and looks amazing on the neck.
Laid out from end to end, the necklace measures 38cm and from the top opal to the lower, this distance measures 5.5cm.
Art Deco jewellery is as fashionable and stylish today as when it was made, and looking at this necklace, it is so easy to see why.
