Art Deco rings from the 1920’s are always so popular and look stunning on the finger thanks to the spectacular geometric designs and styles and in this case the design plus the wonderful combination of black and white.
All hand made in platinum, platinum was the precious metal of choice for many of the jewellers of the Art Deco period thanks to its pure white colour and ability to be drawn into a very fine wire and still retain the ability to create a ring that is strong enough to last forever.
Thanks to the pure white colour of the platinum, many jewellers of the 1920’s combined rings and bracelets with black onyx for a fabulous contrast of colours as can be seen in this Art Deco ring and see how well the combination works.
To make this Art Deco ring more sparkling is of course the use of the diamonds set around the onyx as well as in the centre.
There are 18 diamonds set around the outside and these are all milgrain set which shows that delightful crimping along the edges which adds so much extra charm and appeal and typical of the fine work of the jewellers of this time the diamonds do not simply go just around the onyx, rather there are individual setting segments for each side as well as the diamonds set into each corner.
Then there is of course that wonderful diamond in the centre that sparkles magnificently and is also milgrain set and looks so elegant.
In total the diamonds weigh 0.82 carats and make this Art Deco ring sparkle magnificently.
