Art Deco onyx and diamond ring handmade in the 1920's

The dense black from the onyx and the pure white from the platinum combine perfectly and was a common choice of materials and colour during the Art Deco period, and here is a very beautiful and stylish genuine Art Deco onyx and diamond ring that dates from the 1920's.

Set with an oval piece of black onyx, the top of the ring measures 18.6mm by 12.2mm across and has a lovely soft curve to the top which feels so smooth and elegant to the touch.

 Sitting in the centre to add an extra element of sparkle and pizazz is a 0.10 carat European cut diamond that captures the light and eye so well without making the ring to over the top or ostentatious.

Platinum is such a beautiful material that was embraced by many jewellers of the Art Deco period of the 1920's to the 1940's and looking at the ring from underneath, instead of a scroll design supporting the frame, it was made with a floral design that shows how much love and attention to detail was put into hand making this ring all those years ago.
