$0.00
Jewellery from the Art Deco period of the 1920’s to the 1940’s resulted in some truly exquisite and exceptional pieces such as can be seen here with this lovely Art Deco opal and diamond pendant made in the 1920’s.
Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, the pendant measures 42.6mm by 18.8mm wide and sitting on the neckline, there is no doubt that it will always get the attention and admiration that it rightly deserves.
The style and elegance of this pendant is just remarkable and a real testament to the quality of jewellery that was made during this wonderful era.
Suspended in the centre and swaying so elegantly is a lovely solid Australian opal that measures 1.20 carats in weight and has a lovely blue-green body colour that looks so beautiful during the day or in the evening.
And then surrounding the opal in such a delicate design are a total of thirty seven diamonds with the smallest diamonds being rose cut diamonds and single cut diamonds and the larger ones European cut diamonds and early brilliant cut diamonds. Coming together to total 1.01 carats, the sparkle given off from these diamonds is wonderful and when worn around the neck, takes you back to a wonderful era of decadence, romance and surprise.
The way the diamonds graduate in size as well as the delicate setting that was all done in platinum highlights the quality of care and craftsmanship that went into making jewellery during the Art Deco period.
Simply stunning, this is an exquisite example of a genuine Art Deco opal and diamond pendant that will always be cherished and admired.
