Australia is regarded as the home to not only the worlds largest source of opals, but more importantly the best in the world, and here is a magnificent Art Deco opal and diamond ring dating from the 1920’s, set with a lovely solid Australian opal.
Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, the elegant design of the ring from the diamonds on the side to the double claws at each end, all go towards highlighting and emphasising the wonderful quality of the opal. With a lovely green body colour throwing out an amazing spectrum of colours, the opal measures 1.50 carats and is cut in the most beautiful unique elongated shape.
On each side are two single cut diamonds that actually graduate in size with the top diamonds being marginally larger than the lower as it tapers to the yellow gold band. The diamonds total 0.05 carats and add the right amount of scintillation and charm to the ring.
Measuring 19.1mm from one end diamond across to the other end diamond by 16.4mm, this ring sits perfectly on the finger and truly accentuates the finger where it will always be admired.
